Responsible investments and stewardship activities are central to our corporate identity, driving us to contribute positively to society and pave the way for a more equitable and developed Vietnam.
ESG responsibilities
At SSIAM, ESG spans many activities, offering opportunities to steward social and environmental concerns while fulfilling our fiduciary duties.
Monitoring
Our ESG specialist collects ESG data and stay abreast of the evolving ESG discourse, factors, and considerations.
Sector stewardship
Collaborate with regulatory bodies to increase the safety and transparency of asset management products.
Social considerations
We actively engage with various stakeholders and collaborate other entities to amplify the impact of our shared values.

ESG is a fundamental aspect of our investment decision-making and risk management process.

We systematically incorporate ESG factors into our investing process.

Screening
We require at a minimum that the pipelines meet the IFC Exclusion list to proceed further.
02.
ESG due dilligence
We engage external expert to conduct in-depth ES Due Diligence. We then establish the ESAP (Environmental and Social Action Plan) as a guide to address the identified E&S risks and impacts and timeline for completion
03.
Monitoring
On an annual basis, we monitor each investee’s E&S performance by requiring them to submit reports as well as supplementary documents/data. This data will be used to actively monitor the investee company's performance.

Stewardship
Help guide investee companies towards completion of the ESAP (Environmental and Social Action Plan).
05.
Divestment
If the company cannot complete the actions required by the ESAP (Environmental and Social Action Plan) then the team moves towards divestment.

Screening
We screen all of our active funds through an exclusion list.

ESG factor consideration
We incorporate ESG considerations, particularly governance-related information, for the companies in our portfolio of actively managed listed equity funds whenever possible.

Stewardship
We exercise our voting rights in favour of resolutions expected to advance progress on our stewardship priorities.
Engagement with policy makers
We believe that as asset managers, we have a duty to be leaders in adopting ESG principles in both investing and non-investing activities.
We actively contribute comments to new legal document drafts each year to help build and improve the fund management industry while anticipating changes in legal regulations that could impact our operations.
