Fund Type

DAIWA SSIAM IV is a member fund operating under an exempted limited partnership structure, investing following a private equity model with a focus on private enterprises and selectively in listed companies through private investment in public equity (PIPE) transactions and similar structures.

Investment Objective

The investment objective of DAIWA SSIAM Fund IV is to provide Limited Partners (LPs) with opportunities for attractive long-term capital appreciation through investments in equity or equity-equivalent assets.

The Fund implements an investment strategy targeting sectors such as retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and discretionary consumption, export-oriented industries, healthcare, education, logistics and infrastructure, as well as enabling technologies supporting traditional sectors.

The Fund’s investment strategy focuses on acquiring influential minority stakes, typically between 10% and 30%, along with Board representation rights to drive value creation and support portfolio companies post-investment.

The Fund targets a gross expected return of approximately 25% IRR

Fund Size and Operations

  • Target fund size: approximately USD 100 million, with a maximum of USD 150 million
  • Fund life: 8 years from first close, with two optional 1-year extensions
  • Investment period: 4 years from first close
  • Expected number of investments: 8–10 transactions, each ranging from USD 5–10 million

The Fund is jointly managed by SSI Asset Management Company Limited (SSIAM) and Daiwa Corporate Investment Co., Ltd.
